Hypnotherapy

Cravings, Phobias, Anxiety, Self-sabotage, Calming the Nervous System

Hypnotherapy can be a powerful tool to support new patterns of behaviour, life choices and new thinking. It can also be used to calm an over active (triggered) nervous system and bring in strategies for coping. Hypnotherapy seeks to enable and free the new thinking and choices that are already there within you.

A hypnotherapist helps you to enter an altered state of awareness (one you naturally experience many times a day and also when you drift down to sleep or drift up in the morning). This state is similar to meditation except that you have an experienced therapist to guide you. Typically, hypnotherapists treat stress, addictions, compulsions and anxiety. They can also work with you to improve confidence and levels of professional performance.

Neurodivergence and Hypnotherapy

I have found that some neurodivergent people respond particularly well to hypnotherapy (and guided imagery), finding it a supportive mechanisn for coping with their regular experience of a dysregulated nervous system.

To be recognised as a Hypnoherapist in the UK it is necessary to undertake an accredited training in order to be registered with one of the professional bodies. Only then is it also possible to be registered with the CNHC (the Complementary and Healthcare Council), the professional standards authority.
